July 18 2019 The High Desert Yardbirds defeated Wasco Reserve 14-4 in a game that featured six runs in the eighth and ninth innings. High Desert finished with six hits and took advantage of 19 walks while Wasco also recorded six hits and committed five errors.
High Desert scored once in the first inning and broke open the game with four runs in the fourth. After adding a run in the seventh the Yardbirds erupted for five runs in the eighth and three more in the ninth. Wasco scored once in the fourth and fifth innings and twice in the seventh but could not close the gap.
D. Reddy led High Desert with two hits three RBI and two runs. Daniel Gardner had one hit one RBI and three walks while Dillon Fahr and Joey Macaluso each drove in a run. Macaluso also hit a home run and Danny Kerr and Anthony Ward added RBI. Ward scored three runs and stole three bases.
John Schulz earned the win after allowing four hits and two runs over five innings with five strikeouts. High Desert pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts. Taylor Peterson took the loss for Wasco after allowing four runs three earned on two hits in 3.1 innings while walking six and striking out six. Justin Crider had two hits and an RBI for Wasco and Luke Jackson hit a solo home run.
