July 20 2019 The High Desert Yardbirds scored 10 unanswered runs after the fifth inning began and defeated the Monterey Amberjacks 10-1. High Desert finished with eight hits and no errors while Monterey managed three hits and one error.
High Desert broke through with five runs in the fifth inning, added two in the sixth and scored three more in the eighth. Oscar Larranaga powered the offense with a home run and four RBI, while D. Reddy went 2-for-4 with three runs scored, two walks and an RBI. Dillon Fahr and Tommy Anderson each drove in a run, and Slayton Vaughan added two RBI.
Jacob Rosales earned the victory with a complete-game performance, allowing three hits and one run while walking three and striking out 15 in nine innings. Justin Curry took the loss for Monterey after allowing five runs on three hits with seven walks and eight strikeouts in five innings. Austin Marcellus hit a home run and drove in Monterey’s only run.
