July 23 2019 The High Desert Yardbirds defeated Wasco Reserve 11-2, scoring in five different innings and finishing with nine hits. High Desert took an early 1-1 game and moved ahead with three runs in the second and two in the third before breaking it open with a five-run eighth inning. Wasco scored once in the first and once in the ninth while committing seven errors.
D. Reddy led High Desert with three hits, three runs, two walks, a triple and two stolen bases. B. Speas drove in three runs, while Slayton Vaughan went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Oscar Larranaga also had two hits and drove in a run, and Hector Morales and Anthony Ward each added an RBI. Wascos Justin Crider recorded two hits, including a home run, and drove in both of the clubs runs.
John Kopicky earned the win after allowing one run on four hits over seven innings. He struck out 12 and walked two. Anthony Ward worked a scoreless eighth with two strikeouts, and Evan Bell finished the game. Taylor Peterson took the loss for Wasco after allowing four runs on three hits in 1 2/3 innings, with three walks and four strikeouts.
