June 2 2019 The High Desert Yardbirds defeated the Tucson Saguaros 11-3 after collecting 14 hits and scoring in five innings. Tucson took a 1-0 lead in the first, but High Desert answered with two runs in the second. The Saguaros briefly moved ahead 3-2 with two runs in the bottom half before the Yardbirds scored twice in the third and fourth innings to take control.
High Desert added a run in the fifth and broke the game open with four runs in the ninth. Dillon Fahr led the Yardbirds with two hits and four RBI, while Harry Ferguson went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Hector Morales and Oscar Larranaga each added two hits, and D. Reddy reached base three times with a hit and two walks. The Yardbirds also recorded five doubles and stole one base.
Ferguson earned the win after allowing six hits and three runs two earned over seven innings with two walks and five strikeouts. Austin Brown and Chase Martin combined for two scoreless innings in relief. Yasmanys Fernandez took the loss for Tucson after giving up nine hits and six earned runs in four innings while striking out eight. Riley Richarz and Patrick Clifford each had two hits for the Saguaros with Clifford driving in one run.
