June 6 2019 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the High Desert Yardbirds 9-6, scoring in five of the first eight innings before holding off a late High Desert rally. Bakersfield finished with 16 hits, while High Desert collected nine.
J.J. Santana led the Train Robbers with two hits and three RBIs, including a home run. Marcos Figueroa also homered and scored twice, while Deandre Smith went 3-for-4. Devin Alexander added a home run, two hits and an RBI, and Reinaldo Valdez contributed a triple and an RBI.
Bakersfield broke through with a run in the second inning, then scored four times in the fourth to take control. The Train Robbers added single runs in the sixth and seventh before a two-run eighth made it 9-0. High Desert answered with six runs in the ninth, highlighted by a three-hit three-RBI performance from Dillon Fahr. D. Reddy had two hits and an RBI for the Yardbirds.
Alexander earned the win after throwing seven scoreless innings, allowing six hits and striking out seven without issuing a walk. Stephen Keskinidis took the loss for High Desert after allowing five runs on eight hits over five innings. Bakersfield pitchers recorded 11 strikeouts overall.
