June 21 2019 The High Desert Yardbirds defeated the Bakersfield Train Robbers 3-0 behind a strong pitching performance at Adelanto Stadium. High Desert scored once in the third inning and added two runs in the sixth to complete the shutout. The Yardbirds finished with nine hits while Bakersfield collected seven.
Kyle Hodgson earned the win after allowing seven hits and two walks over eight scoreless innings. He struck out eight while throwing 86 of 126 pitches for strikes. Evan Bell worked a scoreless ninth for the save, allowing no hits with two walks and one strikeout.
High Desert received two hits from Dillon Fahr and Hector Morales, while D. Reddy also went 2-for-5. Fahr scored once and stole two bases. Aiden Brook tripled and scored, and Tommy Anderson drove in one run. K. Hodgson also tripled as the Yardbirds applied pressure with extra-base hits and five stolen bases.
Devin Alexander took the loss for Bakersfield after giving up seven hits and three earned runs in 5.2 innings. He struck out seven but issued five walks. S. Valenzuela finished with 2.1 scoreless innings and four strikeouts. Karlos Joseph led the Train Robbers with two hits, including a double, while Luis Alvarado, N. Etheridge, J. Hernandez and Deandre Smith added one hit apiece.
