June 24 2019 The High Desert Yardbirds defeated the Bakersfield Train Robbers 7-6 after building a five-run lead in the sixth inning and holding off a late Bakersfield rally. High Desert finished with 10 hits and no errors while Bakersfield collected 12 hits but committed five errors.
Dillon Fahr went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and a run for the Yardbirds. Daniel Gardner added a home run and two RBIs, while D. Reddy scored twice and drove in a run. High Desert also received two hits from Oscar Larranaga and a two-hit effort from Reddy.
Bakersfield scored once in the first inning and added another run in the sixth before pushing across four runs in the eighth. N. Etheridge led the Train Robbers with four hits in five at-bats, and Jarrett Anton went 1-for-1 with two RBIs and a triple. Andres Rios and Reinaldo Valdez also drove in runs.
Colton Draney earned the win for High Desert after allowing four runs on nine hits in seven innings with three walks and seven strikeouts. Austin Brown gave up two runs in two-thirds of an inning before A. Cartier recorded the final out of the eighth. Evan Bell worked a scoreless ninth with one strikeout to earn the save. Bakersfield starter Edilson Alvarez went the distance but took the loss after allowing seven runs on 10 hits with nine strikeouts.
