June 25 2019 The Monterey Amberjacks rallied from an early deficit to defeat the High Desert Yardbirds 8-5. Monterey collected 12 hits and overcame a 5-1 High Desert lead after five innings by scoring once in the sixth and twice in each of the final three innings. Both teams committed one error.
Morgan Blatnik and Thomas Prospero each drove in two runs for Monterey, while Jerry Chavairra also went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a home run. James Prockish added two hits, a double and an RBI, and Monterey also received a home run from Blatnik. High Deserts Slayton Vaughan hit a two-run homer and finished with two hits and two RBI. Daniel Gardner went 2-for-5 and scored twice for the Yardbirds.
Daniel Bodishbaugh earned the win after allowing two hits and no runs over 1.2 innings with one strikeout. George Faue started for Monterey and struck out nine over six innings, allowing five runs on six hits. Ulysses Ramos recorded the save with 1.1 scoreless innings, two strikeouts and no hits allowed. Jacob Rosales struck out nine over 6.1 innings for High Desert, but Nate Doiron took the loss after Monterey scored twice against him in the late innings.
