Yardbirds Pull Away From Saguaros 10-6

June 27 2019 The High Desert Yardbirds defeated the Tucson Saguaros 10-6 after collecting 14 hits and scoring in six innings. High Desert built a 4-2 lead through two innings, but Tucson moved ahead 5-4 with a three-run stretch across the third through fifth innings. The Yardbirds answered with three runs in the sixth and added two more in the ninth to secure the win.

D. Reddy led High Desert with three hits, two runs, two RBI and a home run. H. Morales added two hits, two runs, two RBI and a home run, while D. Kerr contributed two hits and two RBI. The Yardbirds also received a two-hit effort from Daniel Gardner and finished with 10 runs on 14 hits.

Harry Ferguson earned the win after allowing 12 hits and six runs, five earned, in five innings while striking out five. Austin Brown followed with three scoreless innings and three strikeouts, and Evan Bell worked a scoreless ninth for the save. Tucson’s Riley Richarz went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and one RBI, while E. Zorilla hit a home run and drove in one run.
