July 2 2019 The Roswell Invaders defeated the High Desert Yardbirds 10-8 after scoring five runs in the seventh inning to break open a 5-5 game. Roswell collected 15 hits and overcame two errors, while High Desert finished with 10 hits and one error.
Matt Paciello led the Invaders with three hits, including a home run, and four RBI. Kirby Lambert added a homer and three RBI, while Austin Maltby and Jalin Lawson also hit home runs. Jared Hagan, Nolan Hoff, Maltby and A. Stubblefield each recorded two or more hits, with Stubblefield collecting three hits and stealing a base.
Roswell scored twice in the first inning, twice in the fifth and once in the sixth before its five-run seventh. High Desert answered with two runs in the fourth, three in the fifth, one in the eighth and two in the ninth. Oscar Larranaga paced the Yardbirds with three hits, including a home run and a double, three runs and two RBI.
Chauncey Nunez earned the win after allowing two hits and one earned run in three innings, striking out five and walking two. Alex Werbach started for Roswell and allowed six hits and five runs, two earned, in five innings. Harry Ferguson took the loss for High Desert despite striking out seven in six innings; he allowed eight hits and six runs, five earned.
