July 11 2019 The High Desert Yardbirds rallied past the Tucson Saguaros 7-6 after overcoming an early deficit at Adelanto Stadium. Tucson scored once in each of the first two innings and twice in the third to take a 4-0 lead, but High Desert answered with one run in the fourth and three in the fifth to tie the game. The Yardbirds added a run in the seventh and two more in the eighth to secure the victory.
Daniel Gardner led High Desert with three hits, including two doubles, while D. Reddy and Dillon Fahr each had two hits and scored two and three runs respectively. Oscar Larranaga delivered two RBI, and Gardner and Reddy each drove in a run. High Desert finished with 12 hits. For Tucson, Nick Diaz had three hits, Lawrence Chavez collected two hits and scored three runs, and J. Garnett drove in three runs on two hits, including a triple. Chavez also hit a home run, his fifth of the season.
High Desert starter Colton Draney struck out six over 6.1 innings, allowing nine hits and six earned runs. Andrew Cartier earned the win after throwing one scoreless inning with two strikeouts, and Evan Bell recorded the save with two-thirds of an inning without allowing a hit or a run. Tucson starter Robby Medel worked five innings, allowing seven hits and four runs, three earned, before Sean Lubreski took the loss after surrendering two runs in the seventh.
