July 14 2019 The Tucson Saguaros defeated the High Desert Yardbirds 6-3 after scoring three runs in the eighth inning to pull away at Adelanto Stadium. Tucson finished with 10 hits and overcame two errors while High Desert collected six hits and committed one error.
Tucson scored twice in the third inning and added another run in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead. The Yardbirds trimmed the deficit to 3-2 with a run in the seventh, but the Saguaros answered with three runs in the eighth. High Desert scored once in the bottom half of the inning, but could not complete the comeback.
Greg Chavez led Tucson with three hits and two RBI. Riley Richarz drove in two runs, while Nick Diaz and Daniel Diaz each added an RBI. Shawn Barrowdale scored twice, and Michael Klein contributed a double and scored a run. High Desert’s Dillon Fahr had three hits, and Tommy Anderson added two hits. Hector Morales drove in the Yardbirds’ only run credited in the batting statistics.
Klein earned the win after allowing one unearned run on three hits over six innings with two walks and six strikeouts. Austin Cooper and Sean Lubreski each worked one inning, and Joe Rivera earned the save with a scoreless ninth that included two strikeouts. Harry Ferguson took the loss for High Desert after allowing three runs on seven hits in seven innings with three walks and seven strikeouts.
